Pet Wellness and Your Veterinary Team
Puppies and kittens have special needs that we address during their visits along with administering appropriate vaccines for their age and starting heartworm preventative.
Bringing your Adult Pet in for an annual diagnostic, wellness checkup, vaccinations and purchase of heartworm preventative (either 6 month injectable given twice a year or chewable tablet) can help reassure you that your dog or cat is healthy. Many dogs and cats are good at hiding signs that something is wrong, so subtle changes in their health or behavior might be easy to overlook. Annual exams provide opportunities for early detection which may improve the prognosis of many diseases, keep medical costs down, and help your pet live longer. A dental cleaning program is also set in place depending upon your pet’s oral health.
With our Older Pets it is vitally important that they receive physical exams and diagnostics twice yearly, while maintaining heartworm preventative throughout their lives. Going to the Veterinarian once a year is like us going to our doctor once every 7 years. Their aging is so much more rapid than ours.
Wellness exams, heartworm preventative, diagnostic testing and dental cleanings as needed can do so much to improve the life of our 4 legged family members.
